Excellent work, AlanY. Question is how many more SS and SSP tournaments before May 2012. How about assuming PG reaches SF for the remaining 3 PSS, what would be his final total for best of 10 tournaments. Would that score guarantee a top 4 position? By the way, are TC and SSF points gonna be counted?
we're only 24 into the 52 weeks qualification period. still a lots of tournaments to go for, but remember only the top 10 counted. feel free to download the full file and play around the what if ... in http://www.mediafire.com/?mf3pzz2rt9p31 SSF, yes. BIG points as the PSS, i.e. 11000 for winners. TC will be after the qualification period I'm afraid
We have 3 PSS, SSF and 6 SS until the end of the qualification period. Assuming all players will be in the 4 big ones, 3PSS + SSF with the following results;

W RU SE QF

PG 1 2 1

LCW 1 1 2

LD 1 1 1 1

CL 1 1 1 1

CJ 1 2 1

Also playout 4 out of the remaining 6 SS with similar results; All depend on CJ and may be a helping hand from his mates. LYB still got lots of work to do as how to position his foot soldiers for the best results.
Shouldn't Gade have at least 3 SE and perhaps one more for SSF for the scenario asked about? On second thought probably doesn't make much difference compared to 1 RU and 1 QF instead ... was mistakenly looking at the RU at first as Semifinal spots thinking of "SE" as second round
that was based on 3 PSS , SSF and 4 SS (8 together). in fact, PG will have 2 RU, 4 SF and 2 QF until next May, I'm sure he will be quite please about that. may be he would like to swap a couple of those SF to winner. same as the other 4 players.
Say, since Gade already has enough tournaments and perhaps this was the scenario asked: given his current points total of 52313 from 7 tournaments , if you add 3 semifinal results from SSP events what are the possible outcomes? Never mind, I can see that would be a lot of work since everyone else can still upgrade from regular SS's as well ...
52313 + 3*7700 = 75413. As PG is so consistency in SF he wouldn't gain much points after 10 tournaments unless he go beyond SF. i.e. if he don't go beyond SF more it's a good chance that he will be caught up by the 3 musketeers from China
this is not important unless CL only play 10 t'ments for the qualification, very unlikely. in fact it's better for him, say he win a SS after 10 t'ments, he will gain 9200-1200 = 8000. similar for PG, he will only gain 9200-6420 = 2780, and even worst for LCW, only 9200-7000 = 2200. you can see the top players will dropout more offen after 10 t'ments as not much to gain.
